Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharem Faiku is an Associate Professor and Dean at the Faculty of Law at the “Ukshin Hoti” University in Prizren. He completed his PhD at the University of Vienna (Austria), and completed his Master of Laws – Integrated Studies and Bachelor of Laws at the University of Vienna (Austria). Dr. Faiku has extensive experience in teaching subjects such as: Civil Law, Law of Obligations, Contract Law, Family and Inheritance Law. His academic experience also includes international collaborations, summer program coordination, and curriculum development. His areas of professional and scientific interest include Civil Law in general, and in particular Contract Law, Family and Inheritance Law, Consumer Law, Copyright Law, etc., where he has published several scientific papers in international journals. He is also active in training and projects that connect higher education with industry and foster innovation.
The Faculty of Law (FJ) of the “Ukshin Hoti” University of Prizren was founded in 2010 in response to the market demands for qualified personnel in the field of law. Since its establishment, the Faculty has developed continuously, becoming one of the most important academic units of the University and an important center of knowledge for the Prizren region and beyond. Since its inception, the Faculty has been oriented towards close ties with the community and the labor market, preparing professionals capable of the process of internationalization and global competition. Currently, the Faculty offers Bachelor and Master degree programs, while in the medium term, the opening of doctoral programs is foreseen, in line with the general developments of the University.
Accredited programs are offered in the following areas:
- Bachelor: General Law;
- Master: Democratic Governance and Rule of Law;
Through dedicated academic staff and collaboration with national and international partners, the Faculty has managed to strengthen its profile as an institution that promotes quality, innovation and scientific research. The students of the Faculty of Law have diverse geographical and cultural origins, reflecting the diversity of the city of Prizren and creating a rich academic environment. The faculty is equipped with modern infrastructure for the development of the teaching process, including classrooms, an amphitheater, computer laboratories, a library and special research spaces. In addition, important structures such as the Center for Innovation and Employment and the Industrial Advisory Board (BIK) have been functionalized, which strengthen the connection with the labor market and create bridges of cooperation with the private and public sectors. Through scientific conferences, research projects and international partnerships, the Faculty of Law has increased its academic visibility, contributing simultaneously to regional development and the internationalization process of the University.
